THE NOSEY NEIGHBOR- Peacock flowers

THE NOSEY NEIGHBOR June 18, 2020

Each morning I feel incipient excitement building up before my daily photo walks. Each morning I check my “word of the day” on Word Genius. Yes, “incipient” was that word.
I found myself walking down Victory Blvd., the far south of my neighborhood.

In the far distance, I saw a tree with what looked like bursts of sunflowers on it. As I approached, the tree greeted me with a stunning array of yellow Peacock flowers. I found myself enveloped in an enchanted greeting. I was surprised, Yes! Delighted, Yes!
I continued my adventure sauntering up Charlesworth Ave. where I had encountered the Peacock Flowers with fern-like foliage. (aka. Mexican Bird of Paradise) on a previous walk.
I paused to take in the attention grabber, a beautiful inflorescence of yellow, red orange with an immense racemes of scarlet. The vibrant orange and red blooms are a flamboyant, extravagant flower.
My North Hollywood’s neighborhood charm may seem hidden but in its own endearing and refreshingly way, it is still my neighborhood.
If God has made such detailed provisions for these flowers, which are here today and soon gone, we can rest assured that He has made many more provisions for each of us.
