Life vibrates with joy and hope. Cultivating Joy rewires the brain to help you become more compassionate, resilient, energized, and purposeful. ************************* "Be confident of this very thing, that I who have begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. REFLECTIONS: On blogging...
Been giving THIS BLOGGING thing much thought. Through-out my life, journaling, has been sporadic, mostly appearing during very difficult and challenging times. Recently, I was thumbing through a book at my friend Laurie's, CHOOSING GRATITUDE: Your Journey to JOY by Nancy Leigh Demoss. It prompted me to review and reflect on some 2003 entries when I began a "Remembrances of God's Benefits displayed to Becky" Journal. It began with an excerpt from THE LIFE AND LETTERS of Henry Martyn by John Sargent; BANNER OF TRUTH,TRUST 1985, pg.29. "...my object in making this Journal, is to accustom myself to self-examination, and to give my experience a visible form, so as to leave a stronger impression on the memory, and thus to improve my soul in holiness; for the review of such lasting testimony will serve the double purpose of conviction and consolation." I then noted 8 motivations for reasons in beginning this somewhat sporadic of entries. 1.That I may CULTIVATE an attitude of JOY and GRATITUDE in what God is doing in my life no matter what others do or not do. 2.To keep from being LAZY-Spiritually and mentally. 3.For improving expressive skills. 4.In hopes that it will teach me to express my thoughts more on paper. (ha, ha, and now in blogging skills) 5.To provide a little order for the chaos over which I have little control of. 6.Because I want a permanent reminder of what God has done for me and in the event that my mind becomes foggy, I will want to be reminded of all that God has done for me. 7.So that others would have insight into my experiences. 8.Giving vent to a heart whose desire is to declare the benefits & gratefulness of God during seasons of my life.
