GOD'S ORNAMENTS~Clouds & Leaves

CLOUDS, THE ORNAMENTS OF HEAVEN, Fleecy piles amid the sun.

Some pause, others move through the sky as torpedos set on a mission.  I idly took an afternoon Sunday stroll, watching and dreaming until the next thing captures my eye, the land of God’s art work at my feet.

It’s the power of God in his creation, the seasonal changes, the temporariness of our days, the beautiful colors of the day.  The trees listen to its creator rather than my foolish wishes for remaining the same.

I stubbornly want to hold on to what was instead of following the lesson the leaves give.

Some just want to hang on instead of wanting to enter into a new season.  So as we face a new year let us look forward to the season ahead.

When next year arrives, it may be full of surprises, full of twists & turns, transitions & adjustments, fruitful & abundant while God remains unchanging.

J. I. Packer points out that God does not change. His life is always the same. His character is always dependable.

His truth, ways, and purposes do not change. His Son does not change. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
