Closed Mimosa leaves-mansions
Quotes of the day:
“Leave everything in God’s hands and eventually you’ll see God’s hand in everything.”
“An answer of “no” today, becomes God’s better answer of “yes” tomorrow.” ~Boyd Baily
I have taken more walks around my neighborhoods in the last two months than in the prior two years.
I cannot escape change and its disruptions. Change is meant to be.
That is how life is meant to be. Change is always with me and the weariness it brings in its wake.
The key to repeating the monotony of a sequestered day is to notice and celebrate every evidence of God everywhere and to take unscripted walks.
Questions like “How are you doing?” appear more genuine.
There is no better time to position the heart to reflect on “…how the Lord your God has led …”
“And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years (months of pandemic lock-downs) in the wilderness (in your homes), that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna (home delivery, substitutions & brands), which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” ~Deut.8:2-5)
The mornings challenge are walking and breakfast, however, this morning, I was out walking before sunrise, before the Mimosa’s leaves unfurled for the day, leaving the confines of my immediate neighborhood and soon realized, I had walked all the way to Victory Blvd. and covering 2.5 miles upon arriving back at home.
The delights of the morning far surpassed my expectations as I meandered through delightful streets of which I had never walked before.
A mix of ornate mansions with large ornate front doors to half abandoned homes that left much to speculate about.
The large royal blooms offered a brilliant contrast with their creamy white petals, glossy leaves, and the sheer conical symmetry is astounding due to its size. The tree is awesome.
The Jacaranda trees continue to display their carpets of litter in a most undisturbed way.
With change, brings the news, our next door neighbors are moving. They have been very good neighbors. I will miss the cars from other states that frequented the spaces in front of our house and the respectful young men that occupied the house. I assume it is part of the pandemic wake. Yes, I am saddened.
