We tend to be a forgetful people and need reminders and encouragement:
1 John 4:9 "In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him."
#2 Amazingly, God is available and consistently available to forgive and continue to do so through out our lives.
#3 God provides hope, energizing us to continue in our ministry to serve him.
(Rom.8:11) “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
#4 The incredible knowledge that we have been chosen and adopted as his children IS truly magnificent. We have the blessing of calling him Father. We have undivided protection by God and an inheritance waiting in Heaven.
(Rom. 8:15-17)
"For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, “Abba,[a] Father!” 16 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him."
( I Pet. 1:3-9) "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you 5 who by the power of God are safeguarded through faith, to a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the final time. 6 In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, 7 so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 Although you have not seen him you love him; even though you do not see him now yet believe in him, you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, 9 as you attain the goal of [your] faith, the salvation of your souls."
#5 We have a sympathetic God who shares in our trials. (Heb. 4:15)" For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin."
#6 God has promised to never leave, forsake or abandon us. His love is unconditional. (Rom. 8:31-39)
God’s Everlasting Love
31' What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37" No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
#7 Our trials are meant to discipline, for growth, to build character, and teach us to glorify God, and to test if faith is true, however, he will provide comfort through out any trials.
What is so profound, yet simple is that God manifests his love by his very nature.
(1 John 4:8, 9)
" Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him."
